Our master suite takes its inspiration the beautiful island of Symi and the sparkling Aegean Sea which surrounds her. Greek art and cool island style influence the detail and design, which includes a fully restored moussandra (sleeping platform), typical in many of Symi’s houses.
The painted ceiling is another feature found locally in the grander Sea Captains mansions, whose homes were influenced by the voyages that they made. The Symi Suite allows for al fresco living and dining as required, leading onto the beautiful terrace.
Finally, the crystal blue waters of the Aegean Sea, from which our Symi suite takes its inspiration, can be seen from each of the five large picture windows which frame views of the beautiful port outside.
The Venetian room is a reminder of the most important and major port with which the Islanders traded. Shiploads of sponges, which were individually collected by Symian divers, were sent to Venice before being distributed to wealthy clients throughout Europe and the rest of the world.
The room offers cool open plan living in the old agora building and is furnished with period Italian artefacts and antique paintings showing views of the city at the time.
